2009 Current Deficit Of $1.09 Trillion
From CNN Money
Federal budget deficit rises by $94.3 billion in June, pushing the total shortfall for the current fiscal year to $1.09 trillion.
This year alone is already around 9% of what our current National Debt is, figuring an estimated $1T deficit and $11T debt. And it’s going to get even worse:
By the end of fiscal 2009, the government expects to be in debt by $1.84 trillion. The Treasury said it expects that its expenditures to approach $4 trillion while its income will only be $2.16 trillion.
There’s absolutely no sense is continuously year after year piling more and more debt onto the already almost incomprehensible pile that our future generations are going to have the burden of carrying.
We need to take a stand on this growing problem and let our elected officials know that we do not support them spending our country into a hole.
Let’s fire out as many messages as we can to our elected representatives and tell Congress to cut federal spending!
