When Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) shouted, “You lie!” in the middle of President Barack Obama’s address to both houses of Congress, his outburst opened up a far bigger can of worms than mere accusations of partisanship or even rudeness. Recently, efforts to audit the Federal Reserve have been gathering steam on both sides of the political aisle, as both Republicans and Democrats are expressing their frustrations with the nearly complete lack of transparency and accountability during an unprecedented time of activity from the Fed. Congressman Ron Paul has been calling for this for years,…

Downsize DC’s full-time employees have their own Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), and when you see what they’ve done for us, you may want one too.

Washington, DC is relentless in its pursuit of central control. Some people think the opposition to DC should be centralized and coordinated as well. They’d like to fight fire with fire.
But the most effective way to Downsize DC is to inspire more and more people to just say no. It can work. It has worked.
Consider…

The Enumerated Powers Act (HR 450) would require Congress to identify the Constitutional authority for each law it passes. We think this requirement is an important step on the long road to restoring Constitutional limits and the Bill of Rights.
When we last reported to you on August 11 the bill had 48 co-sponsors in the…

The partisans on both sides are using “reading the bill” as a sign of moral superiority. They’re jabbing each other over who’s read the healthcare bill more carefully, as the Joe Wilson controversy indicates.
As originators of the Read the Bills meme, we consider this a sign of progress. It means that public pressure in support…
