First thing: Beck going Paulista?
You mean people overreacted without knowing the full story in context? That never happens. (Sarcasm)
Oh, and finger-pointing-that's just rude.
Headline: White House on Tour to Pitch Stimulus
President Barack Obama and top officials are stepping up the pace of their travel to promote the economic stimulus package to skeptical voters-particularly in states with close mid-term election contests in the fall.
The White House has announced a total of 172 trips outside Washington, D.C., in which administration officials have discussed the stimulus package and its economic impact in the year and a half since the package was signed. (Wall Street Journal)
My take: Why keep 'pitching' something that already passed? Because it isn't working, that's why.
Just a reminder: There is no liberal media bias... seriously
Biden: Tea party movement can't be called racist, yet my folks keep calling them that.
Headline: Economic future 'unusually uncertain'
With the outlook for the economy "unusually uncertain," Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke advised Congress on Wednesday not to precipitously cut stimulus spending in a drive to rein in the deficit, but rather focus on longer-range budget reforms that will reduce the deficit in the next five years but not immediately threaten economic growth. (WashTimes)
My take: The epitome of an understatement.
Please tell them they don't need U.N. approval to declare your independence.
Headline: Jobless Claims in U.S. Increased More Than Forecast
More Americans than projected filed applications for unemployment benefits last week, a sign firings remain elevated even as the economy is expanding.
Initial jobless claims jumped by 37,000 to 464,000 in the week ended July 17, exceeding the highest estimate of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. The survey median projected claims would climb to 445,000. (Bloomberg)
My take: The day after extended unemployment benefits, more people file for unemployment. (Coincidence?)
How not to report on the actual story, by diverting attention away from your complicity.
Last thing: (low importance) Could this be a paradox? Dictator and Goldbug
