Bringing change to America is easier than you think. Get in contact with your Congressmen or Senators, and let them know where you, as their constituent, stand on issues. Your Congressmen can be contacted by phone, fax, and even email. Personally I prefer contacting mine by phone, because I like confirmation of talking to a live person rather than relying on today’s technology to deliver my message. Regardless of your preference, getting in contact with them in any manner you choose is helping bring change!
Please remember the following when contacting your Congressmen, and remember together we can.
Be Polite
When you contact your Representative or Senator by phone, you’ll be greeted by one of their staffers. Kindly tell them that you are calling to urge [name] to support [issue]. The entire call is completely painless, and is a great way to get the feeling of being involved—because you now are!
Be Persistent
It’s important that we collectively as a group never give up on the issues that we believe in and would like to see change brought to. Contacting them once and letting them know how you feel on a topic is great, but it’s important to not let them forget that. Try to make a commitment to make your voices heard regularly using any of the methods that they provide us with.
Be Passionate
We must be passionate about our movement to bring real change to America. We must not forget the great principles on which our great country was founded nor the sacrafices that have been made along the way. Get involved today, as it is your right as an American to make your voice heard.
